Aitken College is a prep to year 12 co-educational Uniting Church independent school located in the north-western suburb of Greenvale. Its educational philosophy focuses upon the development of their students’ skills, intellect, and self esteem, and in doing so they wish to reinforce the students’ confidence, creativity, foster a sense of environmental responsibility, and prepare them for their future place as part of a wide, strong, and free civic society. Aitken College’s curriculum reflects their commitment to the individual and unique growth of every member of their student body, making a point of welcoming and caring for the needs and safety of Aboriginal children as well as children of diverse abilities and those who come from differing cultural and/or linguistic backgrounds.
Aitken College’s primary schooling emphasises literacy, numeracy, cultivating peer support structures, educational and welfare support, and a strong sense of pastoral care. The College believes in building upon that foundation by focusing on the continuity and evolution of each student’s education through to graduation.
