MacKillop College is dedicated to the development and education of students as a whole person, providing diverse and interesting opportunities in sport, leadership, performance, art, music, travel and more. Combined with the comprehensive, well-balanced curriculum, the College caters for the individual needs of students, fostering their intellectual, spiritual, emotional and social growth.
MacKillop is committed to maintaining a safe and enriching environment to assist students in their learning experience. The College’s main campus is home to beautifully kept grounds and state-of-the-art facilities, including a gymnasium, chapel, auditorium, sporting fields, specialised food technology, fibre, woodwork, media and art rooms, and classrooms attached to collaborative learning spaces. Most recently, the College saw the opening of Penola Place, a building created to suit the specific needs of the Year 7 cohort. The College also provides a campus specifically for Year 9 students, which works to integrate real world projects and experiences into the learning process and curriculum. It is our aim to provide students with the resources and facilities to enhance their growth and educational experience.
The College vision is Celebrating all life, Challenging all people, Dreaming the new day, which prompts students to embrace their personal skills and talents while concurrently celebrating the achievements and successes of others. It encourages students to set goals and challenge themselves, working collaboratively with others to reach their potential.
This vision works alongside the College theme for 2019, Many journeys, one community, which is woven into the curriculum to ground students’ lives in the wider community and world. Our hope is that this will all serve to prepare our students for a future beyond the College and will cultivate a love of learning and a passion for a brighter, more inclusive future.
Next year, the College will celebrate its fifty-year anniversary, looking back on the many years of successful education, growth and excellence within our community.
