The educational program of Essendon Keilor College is designed to ensure that all students achieve a high level of success throughout their secondary years of schooling and leave school well prepared for further study and work. New facilities on all three campuses have been designed to support the academic program and teachers have been chosen specifically for their expertise in working with students of particular age levels.

Our two junior campuses, at Niddrie and East Keilor, have been developed to meet the special needs of students in Years 7 to 9. Both campuses provide excellent transition programs to ensure that the students move comfortably from primary to secondary school. A high priority is given to student management and the junior campuses are structured to give teams of staff the opportunity of working closely with groups of students. This enables teachers to effectively monitor student performance and behaviour and to work with parents to support the learning of their students.

Students are exposed to a comprehensive curriculum with a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy programs that provide students with the essential skills for academic success. The College is well known for our leading Languages Programs in Japanese and Italian which supports the focus on academic achievement.

Students have many opportunities to participate in a wide ranging extra curricula program involving sport, drama, camps, socials, and a strong instrumental music program.

In Years 10, 11 and 12 our students progress to the Senior Campus in Essendon where they have access to an extensive range of VCE, VET and VCAL programs. While at the Senior Campus, students benefit from exposure to the young adult learning environment where they learn to take responsibility for their own studies. The Campus has a team of student services staff who work with co-ordinators to assist students in preparing for their post secondary school pathways, as well as supporting them during the challenging VCE years. Our senior students benefit greatly from working with our highly experienced staff and they enjoy participating in a number of extra-curricular programs.
