Academy of Mary Immaculate

ACADEMY of Mary Immaculate is the oldest girls’ secondary college in Victoria. Our students are young women of integrity and purpose whose contemporary outlooks are grounded by a strong sense of social justice and critical thinking.
We are the city school for girls
Year 7 at Academy begins with building your daughter’s sense of belonging. This foundational attribute – ‘I belong’ – is essential for any student to undertake purposeful education. Orientation Day, House sports, a Big Sister/Little Sister program, and the Year 7 Camp ensure your daughter builds lasting connections with not only her peers but also with her educational aspirations.
In Year 9, students in our Synergy program combine their knowledge across core subject areas to produce a robust research investigation report. From our location beside the Carlton Gardens, every Academy student can access Melbourne’s premiere learning and cultural centres, including Melbourne Museum and NGV. The ‘city classroom’ becomes a familiar place to not only exercise problem-solving skills in situ, but also to increase their awareness of civics and citizenship.
We are the positive change for the future
Academy’s holistic co-curriculum is designed to challenge and support your daughter’s personal learning goals. Subjects complement and extend her interests in music, visual arts, enrichment programs, and leadership development. Our extensive sports program, which includes inter-House and interschool sports, promotes a culture of participation, while enabling talented students to compete at the highest level.
Your daughter also has the opportunity to develop her intercultural understanding with trips to our sister schools in Italy, Japan, and France. Educational travel connects what your daughter has studied at home with the parts of the world she’s been learning about.
Learning at the Academy of Mary Immaculate is a uniquely Melbourne experience. Discover the difference for yourself today.
